Saturday, November 21st, 2009My last full length cabaret show was at Voyeur (751 5th Ave, San Diego, CA 92101)
on Thursday July 8th from 7:30-9 p.m.
It was a Supper Club event and I performed songs from
“Rachel Marie’s Jazzy Jazz Song Menu”
(33 jazz songs, prepped and seasoned and ready to enjoy!)
Each audience member got to make requests, put them into the mixing bowl(er hat)
and savor the flavor, as I made ‘em sizzle under hot lights!

I brought the ’70’s back!

Ms Marie recently performed at Voyeur (www.voyeursd.com), as part of their Supper Club Series (on Thursday April 1st)! This marked the anniversary of her first one woman show and her first solo Off-Broadway appearance! There she made her debut downtown as a Creative Ingenue, in front of Vegas Showgirl Lights! (Man! That ass is tight!)

This one-woman show, written and performed by Ms. Rachel Marie, is based off the Pink Martini song, “Hang on Little Tomato”, an anthem about a diminutive, yet insistent piece of fruit – a bit disillusioned with the weather, but still set on clinging to its vine. The performer explores her life in this context, grapples with her role as the “little tomato”, and finds truth in this metaphor, as she shares her insights and stories through song.
Featuring songs by Cole Porter, the Andrews Sisters, the Dresden Dolls, and of course, Pink Martini.*
*Note: This show was also performed as part of a cabaret / vaudeville / burlesque collective, in tribute to the late W.C. Fields in San Diego, CA. This performance took place on Sept 17th, 2009 in the Ruby Room and was a smash hit!!!
