Rachel Marie, aka “The Little (Vamp) Tomato”, was born in San Diego, CA, to a loving Jewish mother and an analytical Agnostic father.  She began singing and tap dancing at a very young age, and whether it was her affinity for the imaginary or her sexy seduction by stirrup pants, Ms Marie always knew she was a bit of a quirky character and bound for the Bohemian life!  (Cymbals sound!) La vie Boheme!  

She went off to New York for college, studying theatre and writing at Sarah Lawrence, spending a year abroad in London (where she attended an acting conservatory and nearly OD-ed on tea and crumpets).  Upon her return, she started to get involved in New York comedy and cabaret.  Upon commencement, she spent a year living, working, breathing the Big Apple…taking BIG BITES…sometimes swallowing, sometimes spitting that Red Delicious out!  

She was disenchanted.  She was lost.  She was a twenty-something-post-grad in search of…a song.

So she started writing.  About her adventures, her trials & tribulations, and…her fruit.  (Who knew, Ms Rachel Marie, would find in little tomatoes her muse?)

This website is a compilation of her work.  It showcases new, unpublished pieces, as well as post-produced creations. “Vamp tomato” is where you will find the element of performance interspersed with fictional repose.  The lovely marriage of Ms Sassy and Ms Classy.  Gritty exposes mixed in with “Yo!  This bitch is CRAZY!!!  Where the Hell does she get all this Mother F***in Sh##! from?” types of tales.  You will find blog posts, flyers, galleries, short sound and video clips, booking info, and one Hell of a tight and juicy ass!
